March 25, 2006 I traveled to Sierra Vista, Arizona, where I participated in the High Desert Crimes Book Fair with many other wonderful mystery writers.

March 3, 2006 My first “official” book signing took place at a Waldenbooks store near my place of work. Lots of friends turned out for the lunchtime event, during which we sold more than 80 copies of the book, and I signed over 100!
Gabriel showed up to offer his support and meet some of my co-workers.

February 24, 2006 I had the chance to visit with a friend and inspiration of mine today--author Jackie Collins. “Really?” people often say when I tell them. “Jackie Collins?” Absolutely! The woman is one of the greatest storytellers ever. With more than 25 bestselling novels and over 400 million copies of her books in print, who can argue?
It was nice to see her again and present her with a signed copy of Desert Blood 10pm/9c!
She was as fun and gracious as ever. And she was tickled to see that I named Gus’s first grade teacher after her!

February 22, 2006 With less than a week to go until Desert Blood 10pm/9c hits the stores, I decided to take a few days off and head back to Los Angeles to hang out with friends.
Most of my time was spent with my buddy, Nathan Marlow. Be sure to stop by his website, check out some of his pictures, and say hello!

We had a blast just kicking it around town... eating out, going shopping, catching a movie. It was exactly the kind of relaxing weekend I needed, and if there’s a nicer friend out there to do it with, I haven’t met him yet.

January 24, 2006 I just returned from attending the American Library Association’s mid-winter meeting in San Antonio, Texas. It was fun to hang out with my editor, see friends, and learn more about the publishing business.

January 17, 2006 Gabriel and I spent the Martin Luther King weekend exploring the New England coast from Newport, Rhode Island up to Boothbay Harbor, Maine. We not only got to experience some unseasonably warm temperatures, but we got a taste of some bitingly cold ones, as well! Click here to see some pictures of our trip.
